About Us
At The Gatecatch Company Ltd, we have developed what our customers regard as the best two-way gate catch available today.
The gate will open away from you in both directions so you will never have to back up again. Our catches will lock shut with just a simple push, or close automatically with our self-closing hinge.
Withstanding Challenges
Originally we designed our catches to withstand the challenge of moving horses. As long as the gate can swing both ways, fitting the catch to the gatepost allows horses to move forward through the gate, meaning there is no need for dangerous backing up. As all of our items are simple to use it soon became apparent they were perfect for creating easy disabled access too.
Made from stainless steel and high calibre zinc plate, our products are made to last. Renowned for its easy opening and closing, there are no fiddly pins or bolts that get in the way.
Creating Our Own Brand
Each gate catch we sell is our own brand. Phil Evans was a qualified engineer and invented and created our unique products, winning a runner up award in the innovation category at the Oxfordshire Business of the Year Awards in 2001 presented by Boris Johnson. Since 2015 his wife, Caroline, has continued the business to ensure his legacy lives on.
